Woodland Grants January 28, 2016 12:00 am Woodland support in England is now, in the main, available through the Countryside Stewardship Scheme (CSS). Funding is available to protect, improve and expand woodlands. Below is an outline of the grants that will be available in 2016: Grants for Management Planning and Tree Health Support are open all year round for applications, for more information go to https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/woodland-management-plans-and-tree-health-support-apply-for-a-grant The application window for Woodland Creation Grants through the CSS will open on 16th February and close on 31st March 2016. The grant is expected to be similar to last year, but details will be made available shortly. Funding for Woodland Improvement will be through the Higher Tier of CSS which will be available later in 2016. But those wanting to make use of the grant might want to make sure they have a Forestry Commission approved UK Forestry Standard compliant management plan in place ready for their application. The Woodland Creation Planning Grant is available for those that want to create a new productive woodland of 30 Ha or more. This is made available through the Forestry Innovation Fund.
