Welsh Rural Development Funds

Four new schemes will be launched shortly under the Welsh Rural Development Programme;

• Rural Community Development Fund – aimed at improving ‘community cohesion’
• Sustainable Production Grant – improving resilience of farming
• Food Business Investment Scheme – focus on the Welsh Food Sector
• Strategic Initiative Projects – woodlands, food innovation and the red meat sector.

At this point little else is know about the schemes.  More details will emerge when they are formally announced – probably on the first day of the Royal Welsh Show.
