Welsh Farmer Evidence

October 22, 2015 12:00 am

Rural Payments Wales is sending a letter out to a number of BPS claimants requesting evidence that the claimant is a farmer. This is not the same as the Active Farmer declaration. Under EU regulation a claimant must be a farmer, that is carrying out agricultural production or maintaining land in a state suitable for grazing or cultivation. Most of those receiving a letter will have declared only permanent grassland on their SAF but will not have indicated that they have any livestock. Evidence will need to be sent within 10 days of the letter, this could include copies of invoices used for weed control, evidence of control of non-native invasive weeds, flock or herd records, seed receipts etc.
