Welsh Farm Incomes January 21, 2014 12:00 am Farm profitability in Wales fell 32% in 2012-13. The latest Farm Business Income figures released by the Welsh Governemnt show that the average return in the 2012-13 year (roughly Feb 12 to Feb 13) for all farm types was £28,400. This is a 32% real-terms reduction on the 2011-12 figure which was £41,800. This is not perhaps surprising, considering that the 2012-13 year took in the worst of the wet/cold weather. The figures for dairy farms show a larger reduction than the average, with a drop of 35% year-on-year.
