Welsh Animal Movements

From 1^st November applications for new or additions to existing Sole Occupancy Authorities (SOAs) will not be accepted in Wales. The changes bring Wales in line with England, where SOA’s have not been issued since July 2012.  SOAs allow animal movements without needing a 6 day standstill or TB pre Movement Test to be conducted.  The decision to stop granting new SOAs is a bid to reduce the risk of spreading disease.  Existing SOAs will remain in place however in the longer term all SOAs and CTS links are likely to be abolished.
