Tractor Sales Down

Tractor registrations of machines greater than 50hp have fallen by 19.7% in the first 6 months of 2013 compared to the same period last year. The latest figures from the Agricultural Engineers Association show a total of 6,677 tractors were registered between January and June 2013, this compared to 9,731 in H1 2012.  During July 2013 1,217 tractors were registered compared to 1,411 in the previous year; a fall of 13.7%.  However, sales in the first part of 2012 were exceptionally strong, followed by a tail-off in the remainder of the year.  Therefore the year-on-year comparison for the second half of 2013 is not likely to show such a large drop.
