Tractor Sales

The latest report from the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) reveals 2013 UK tractor registrations (over 50hp) were down by 10.4% compared to 2012 levels at 12,498 units.  Often used as an indicator of how well the agricultural sector is fairing, registrations in the early part of the year were well below 2012 levels, but improved as the year progressed.  The last four months of the year saw sales ahead of the corresponding months in 2012.  Last year the number of units sold were 9% below the average since 2000, but interestingly, when looking at the power sold, this was 3% above the average over this time scale.  According to AEA, the trade is expecting a ‘modest’ increase in sales in 2014.
