The Future of Glastir June 29, 2014 12:00 am The Welsh Government has announced its future plans for Glastir. The proposals outline the programmes available under the environmental scheme for the 2014-2020 funding period. The key points are; farmers will not be required to participate in Glastir Entry to be eligible to enter other Glastir schemes online applications will be introduced through to 2016 when all applications will need to be completed online the success of the Commons Development Officers will be built upon to encourage collaborative agreements within Glastir Advanced and the Glastir Habitat Network a Sustainable Production Grant will be available to improve economic and environmental performance through capital investment across three themes; nutrient, energy and water efficiency (this replaces the Glastir Efficiency Grant) a small woodland planting scheme will be launched to fund plantings smaller than those eligible for Glastir Woodland Creation. a new Organic Farming Scheme will be introduced (see previous article). A number of Glastir options have been removed or changed.
