Tesco Milk Price

Tesco has announced that members of The Tesco Sustainable Dairy Group (TSDG) will see a drop of 0.35ppl in their milk price as from 1^st November.  This still leaves the standard litre price at a healthy 30.58ppl however (including the 0.5ppl supplement for providing costings data).  The drop is largely a result of the falling feed price.  This price will be maintained for six months.  The review of the TSDG is still underway, and is expected to be completed by the end of November.  This could see the pricing system alter after the current fixed period.  The retailer has announced that once the review is complete it may well be recruiting more direct suppliers.  It could add 150 to the existing 600 supplying farmers.  At current prices there could be quite a long queue to join.
