Syngenta Challenges EU August 28, 2013 12:00 am Agro-chemical company, Syngenta, have filed a legal case against the EU Commission at the EU General Court in Luxembourg. The case concerns the Commission’s decision to suspend the use of three neonicotinoid seed treatments on crops that are attractive to bees. Syngenta claims the European Commission took the decision based on a ‘flawed process, an inaccurate and incomplete assessment by the European Food Safety Authority and without the full support of Member States’. The restrictions come into force from 1st December for two years, court proceedings could continue throughout this time.
