2012 Payments

Almost all 2012 SPS payments have now been made.  The RPA has announced that, as of the end of March, 99.3% of applicants had received their money, with 99.5% of funds being paid.

Intentional Over-declarations

We wrote about the severe penalties the RPA may impose if an SPS claimant is deemed to have made an intentional over-declaration of area.  The RPA has now written to around 11,000 SPS claimants warning them over this issue.  These are generally those who had their 2012 claims reduced due to mapping problems.  Whilst the intention of the RPA is good, the wording of the letter has caused some alarm.  In many cases the pre-printed SP5 will have been adjusted to make these corrections anyway.

2013 Deadline

It is unlikely that anyone will have forgotten that the 15thMay is the deadline for submission of this year’s Single Payment claims.  However, a reminder for those that may be leaving things until the last minute that the number of Drop-in centres has reduced this year so a longer trip may be required.
