Simplified Environmental Legislation for Wales October 25, 2013 12:00 am The Welsh Government has issued a consultation on a proposed Environment (Wales) Bill. The new legislation aims to manage the natural environment in a more joined-up way. The document states that in areas such as land designations (e.g. National Parks), pollution controls and nature conservation, the legislation has built up piecemeal over the years and is often out-of-date, confusing and even contradictory. The new Bill will provide Natural Resource Wales with the powers to bring together the management of natural resources. The consultation will run until 15th January 2014 and can be found at – http://wales.gov.uk/consultations/environmentandcountryside/environment-bill-white-paper/?lang=en
