Scottish Tenancy Review

May 31, 2013 12:00 am

There is to be a review of the farm tenancy legislation in Scotland.  Speaking at a conference on Land Tenure in Edinburgh the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Richard Lochhead, announced that a full review will be undertaken in 2014.  This was a promise contained in the SNP election manifesto.  The work is to be undertaken by the tenant Farming Forum, but contributions from the wider industry are likely to be sought.  The last major change in farm letting legislation occurred with the introduction of Limited Duration Tenancies in 2003.
