Scottish Farm Incomes March 24, 2016 12:00 am The Scottish Government has released its latest Farm Business Income (FBI) figures. These are for the 2014-15 year. Estimates from the Scottish Government’s annual Farm Accounts Survey show that the average FBI fell by £8,000 in 2014 compared to 2013 to £23,000. This is the lowest level since the FBI measure was introduced (2009). Incomes peaked in 2010 when the average was £51,000 and have been declining since then. The fall in the value of crops was the main factor together with an increase in input costs such as livestock feed and machinery costs. The 2015 results are likely to continue the downward trend as the milk price especially has fallen together with the lamb, cereal and potato price since the period 2014-2015 figures covered.
