Scottish CAP Timeline

Scotland’s Rural Affairs Secretary, Richard Lochhead, has set out plans for CAP Reform over the coming months. The deadline for responses to the direct payments consultation has been extended by almost 2 weeks to March 28. The consultation will be followed in April by a programme of engagement with industry representatives, final decisions are to be announced at the end of June.  Scotland is already behind the other devolved regions in its decision making, with some announcements not  being made until June this will leave farmers little time to react.
