Scottish Beef Scheme May 1, 2013 12:00 am Scottish cattle farmers should be receiving their payments under the Scottish Beef Scheme 2012. These are the first set of payments under the scheme since it changed slightly so that the first 10 animals receive three times the rate of any further animals, previously it was twice the amount. The rates are dependent on the number of animals claimed. The first 10 calves receive £134.31 (£102.44 last year) with the remaining eligible calves receiving £44.77 (£51.22 last year). These rates are before modulation. Those who receive more than €5,000 (including their SFP) will have their payments modulated at 14% if not, payment rates are modulated at 9%.
