ScotMoves October 4, 2016 12:00 am As from 1st January 2017 Cattle Tracing System (CTS) links in Scotland will be replaced by a new system called ScotMoves. According to the Scottish Government, CTS links are no longer compliant with EU regulations and pose a non-compliance penalty and risk to public health and disease control. The ScotMoves system is being hosted on the ScotEID database. It will be an online system that will allow farmers and crofters to move cattle within their business without the need to report the movements to the CTS. This will include moves to; summer grazing/grass lets away wintering in sheds contiguous land There are no distance restrictions. But all on and off movements not within the business must still be reported to CTS. Those currently using CTS links will be contacted shortly. All those wishing to use ScotMoves need to register with ScotEID. It is hoped this will be the beginning of a move to a complete online register.
