Scotland Food and Drink Export Plan

The Scottish Government Food and Drink Export Plan has identified seven key markets to further drive sales.  North America, France, Germany, the Middle East, China & Hong Kong, Japan and South East Asia have been targeted as providing the best opportuntities for this. The total value of overseas food and drink exports has increased by 52% between 2007 and 2012 to £5.3bn – with exports of Scotch whisky rocketing by 87% in the decade to 2012 to £4.3 billion. The plan aims to increase food and drink exports to £7.1bn by 2017.
