Savills Buys Smith Gore April 22, 2015 12:00 am Savills is to buy Smiths Gore in a deal worth £40m. Smiths Gore was founded in 1847 and has its headquarters in Peterborough. The firm has 31 offices in the UK plus 14 Estate offices. It specialises in the management of rural property, working for clients such as the Crown Estate and the Duchy of Lancaster. Its 532 staff (including 27 Partners) will transfer to the Rural Energy and Projects Division and the Country Residential Agency Division of Savills. Part of the £40m price will be deferred and based on future performance of the business.
