Sainsbury’s 100% British Pork

Major retailer, Sainsbury’s, has announced a move to 100% British for its fresh pork.  It aims for all stores to be 100% British-supplied by 10th July resulting in the retailer sourcing 70% more British pigs.  However its range of bacon and gammon lines will continue to be sourced from Britain, Denmark and Holland.

In a further move to support British farmers, the retailer has announced that all its breaded and roast chicken, frozen whole bird, frozen portions and itsfresh ready meals, pies, pizzas, quiches and soups will be 100% British from 3rd July.  All its fresh chicken has been British for the last ten years.
