Revised BPS Calculator – Wales

The Welsh Government has published a revised version of the BPS example calculator, following the previous version’s swift removal. The calculator must be populated with the 2014 SPS entitlement value and the total eligible land declared in 2015. An estimated payment, in Euros, for 2015-2019 will be given.

The Welsh Government has gained EU approval to change how the Redistributive Payment is made.  Under the initial plans (shown on the withdrawn calculator) the full payment was made from year one of the BPS (2015).  This resulted in massive changes in payments compared to 2014.  Now the Redistributive Payment (RP) will be phased-in over the same period as the Regional Average payment.  This means the RP will take 5.96% of the direct payment budget in 2015, rising to 29.8% in 2019.
