Red Tractor Expands Range

February 14, 2014 12:00 am

The Red Tractor assurance rules are changing so that the mark can appear on more ready meals.  At present, the labelling conditions for processed products require that at least 65% of the total product be made up of assured ingredients (i.e. Red Tractor assured meat would have to make up 65% of the total volume of a meat pie before that pie could use the logo).  From the 20th February the Red Tractor can be used as long as 100% of the meat or poultry in the processed product comes from assured sources.  The first products launched with the new logo will be Asda’s own-label beef ready meals including cottage pie and lasagne.
