Andersons Outlook is an annual publication which provides a synopsis of business performance across UK farming and its prospects for the year ahead. As 2023 marks 50 years since the founding of Andersons, we take a look back over how farming has changed over the past 50 years in terms of costs, consumption, and output and we ponder what farming will look like in 50 years’ time.

The Farm Business Outlook section examines the major macroeconomic and policy trends affecting the UK farming including topics such as Farm Profitability and Prospects, Future UK Land Use, Land Prices and Rentals, Finance and Banking, Agricultural Policy as well as Agricultural Trade Issues.

The 2023 Cropping section analyses combinable cropping, potatoes and sugar beet, horticulture and takes an in-depth look at carbon markets and farming.

For livestock, all major grazing and intensive enterprises are featured whilst the topics of grassland management and nutrient regulations are examined in more depth.

Additional coverage is provided on Scottish and Welsh farming.
