DEFRA figures up to the end of 2013 show that UK broiler slaughterings were 2.8% higher in December 2013 than the previous year at 67 million birds.  However UK turkey slaughterings we down 6% compared to December 2012. 

The table below shows total annual poultry meat production. Consumer demand remains strong with total production up nearly 3.5% in 2013 compared to the previous year.

Poultry meat supplier Faccenda saw profits jump to £5 million in the year to April 2013.  Turnover also increased by 3.9% to £365.2 million. The company announced that its 46% profit increase came from increasing sales volumes, adding value to products and lower interest rates after restructing its debt finance.
