Pigmeat Storage Aid Ends January 28, 2016 12:00 am Following a vote by Member States the European Commission has ended Private Storage Aid (PSA) for pigmeat. Storage aid was introduced on the 4th January in response to prices falling more that 20% compared to the 5 year average and ongoing oversupply in the domestic market – with the Russia import ban still having a big impacts. Nearly 90,000 tonnes are now in storage. As always, this raises concerns over the impact on prices when this supply comes to market in a few months time.
