NVZ Grassland Derogation

Applications for the Grassland derogation under the NVZ open on the 1^st October and close at the end of December.  Usually the ‘manure loading limit’ under NVZ rules is 170kg of nitrogen per hectare.  However, the UK has a dispensation from the EU to allow livestock farmers to increase this to 250kgN/Ha.  This is subject to a use-it-or-lose-it requirement and the EU could withdraw theoption if it is not seen to be taken up.  Applications can be done online at – https://www.gov.uk/nvz-derogation-application
