New Sheep Movement System April 11, 2014 12:00 am The new Animal Reporting and Movement service (ARAMS) was launched on 1st April 2014. The system, provided by SouthWestern takes over the processing of sheep, goat and deer movements in England. Auction markets, collection centres and abattoirs must report movements electronically. Farmers are being encouraged to use the new system but still have the option to continue using paper based reporting. Old AML1 forms have now been replaced by ARAMS1 forms, these can be faxed or posted directly to SouthWestern and should not be sent to Local Authorities. Further changes will come into force from 1 January 2015 when EID tags become compulsory for lambs going to slaughter. Farmers are being encouraged to use any remaining non EID tags ready for the changes in the New Year.
