New Farm AD Fund

A new grant scheme has opened to support farm-scale anaerobic digestion (AD).  The ‘On-Farm AD Fund’ will have £3m of funding.  It is being operated by WRAP and aims to address the barriers to the take-up of small-scale AD.  These are identified as lack of knowledge and lack of funding.  The scheme will come in two parts;

  • an initial grant of up to £10,000 to look at the feasibility of investing in AD
  • a capital loan of up to £400,000 (or a maximum of 50% of the project cost) to build plants up to 250kW

The fund is available to farms in England that have access to slurries and manures.  Full details can be found at – http://www.wrap.org.uk/node/16778
