Monsanto Abandons Syngenta Bid

After four months of negotiations and bids Monsanto has dropped its attempt to takeover Syngenta.  This is after the Swiss-based company rejected a bid worth £30bn.  If the purchase has gone ahead, Monsanto would control a third of the world market for seeds and be the biggest maker of agrochemicals.
