Milk Prices

With sharp rises in the commodity markets, and domestic and global production in decline, prices are reacting.  Some of the latest price increases include:

  • First Milk Haverfordwest and Cumbrian pools will receive a 1ppl increase as from 1st September.  Those FM suppliers in the Scottish Mainland pool will see a 0.75ppl rise and the Midlands and East Wales price will rise by 0.52ppl from the same date.  All members will also receive a 0.25ppl business performance supplement for September.  The B price has also risen by 5ppl to 20ppl for August and September
  • Dairy Crest Davistow suppliers will see their milk price increase from 1ppl from 1st September making it 20.58ppl
  • Arla members will also see a 1ppl increase from 1st September.  The Arla Direct Supply manufacturing milk contract was increased by 2ppl to 17.8ppl in August
  • South Caernarfon Creamery has announced a 0.5ppl increase from 1st September with a further 2ppl from 1st October (this follows a 0.75ppl increase in August)
  • Joseph Heler suppliers will see their price received increase by 1.5ppl from 1st October and also from 1st October will be a 1ppl price rise for Belton Cheese suppliers.

Notable though is Muller’s announcement, earlier in the month, that its non-aligned suppliers will not see any increase in milk price until at least October 1st.  They are currently receiving between 18 and 18.66ppl
