MIlk Price Cuts

May 30, 2014 12:00 am

Dairy Crest has announced that it will be cutting its milk price by 1.25ppl from the 1st July.  This reduction relates to its non-aligned liquid contracts and the Davidstow price is unaffected.  The liquid price will fall to a standard 31.19ppl.  Unlike a number of other processors, Dairy Crest did not make any cuts for May and June.  Therefore it could be argued that it is merely catching up with the market.  However, this move reinforces the current downwards momentum in UK milk prices
