MEPs Reject GM Plans

Members of the European Parliament’s Agriculture Committee have rejected the EU Commissions plans to allow Member States to impose national bans or limits on the imports of GM food and feed.  The MEPs claim that the move would ‘fracture the EU’s Single Market’.  Member States would, however, still be able to ban the cultivation of GM crops.
