Long Term Arable Prospects

The USDA has published its annual long-term projections for the agricultural sector. The report shows positive demand and trade in agricultural commodities as a result of an increasing world population and economic growth. Between 2014/15 and 2024/25, a 16% rise in wheat trade is projected with Russia and Ukraine driving growth. Global soyabean trade is projected to increase by 30% with China showing rapid growth in imports.
