Levy Rates Maintained April 10, 2015 12:00 am UK ministers have agreed that the Agricultural and Horticultural Development Board (AHDB) levy rates will be maintained at the same rates for the third year running. All the rates can be found at http://www.ahdb.org.uk/about/documents/LevyRates2015-16.pdf The total net levy raised is forecast to be in the region of £57.3m in 2015/16; a further £8.3m is forecast to be raised from grants and commercial income. The beef and lamb sector is set to raise the most (£15.6m) followed by cereal and oilseeds (£12m). The funds raised from each sector are ring-fenced so they are only used to benefit that sector. At the same time a Corporate Plan for the AHDB was agreed for the year ahead which aims to deliver five strategic priorities tohelp levy payers: improve productivity and cost management, including resource management, climate change, soils and water and managing market volatility prevent and manage disease deliver market development, i.e. export development, promoting quality products to differentiate against imports, market information and analysis understand and adapt to the regulatory and policy environment address labour market issues and skills development
