Irish Dairy Herd Expansion October 1, 2015 12:00 am The strong growth in the Irish dairy industry is shown by the latest June Survey figures released by Ireland’s Central Statistics Office (CSO). As the table below shows, the number of dairy cows has increased by almost 6% year-on-year to nearly 1.3m animals. The herd has grown by over a fifth in the years since 2010.
