Increase in Snow Payments

DEFRA has announced that payments to English farmers whose sheep were killed by the heavy March snows will be increased.  Under the original rules of the scheme (see May Bulletin) producers were due to get 75% of the cost of disposal.  After processing all the claims, it has now been decided that the payment will be increased to 90%.  Payments will be made by the end of July.
