Greece Takes Over EU Presidency January 16, 2014 12:00 am Greece took over the Presidency of the European Council from Lithuania on 1st January, meaning it will be in charge when the European Parliament elections take place in May. Amongst its priorities for the next 6 months are implementing the new CAP, fisheries policy, economic recovery and promotion of agricultural products both internally and externally.
