GM Camelina Trial

April 30, 2014 12:00 am

Field trials of a genetically modified (GM) camelina variety have been approved.  To be undertaken at Rothamstead Research in Hertfordshire, the trials will see how the plants perform in field-scale conditions.  The plant genetics have been modified so that it produces omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in its oil.  These omega-3 oils are usually found in fish.
