GDT Rises Again

The latest GDT auction held on 19th April showed a further increase.  The average price index increased by 3.8% to $2,263, this follows a 1.2% increase at the beginning of the month.  Notable changes include:

• WMP        +7.5% to $2,156
• Butter       +2.0% to $2,746
• Cheddar  -3.9% to$2,636
• SMP          +0.3% to $1,727

But milk prices continue to fall; cuts as from 1st May include:

• Glanbia by 2ppl to bring their standard litre to15.98ppl
• South Caernarfon by 1ppl to 16.23ppl
• Belton Cheese by 1ppl to 19.89ppl
• Muller Co-op by 1.49ppl to 25.94ppl
• Arla Members by 0.75ppl to 20.12ppl

Arla Non – members will receive a 0.9ppl cut as from 1st June and this will bring their producers’ standard price down to 15.1ppl.
