First Milk Sells Westbury

First Milk has announced that it has sold its share of Westbury Dairies to Arla, for an undisclosed sum.  This is a further indication of the restructuring the co-op is undertaking in order to turn around its business.  First Milk have shared ownership of Westbury for over 12 years, but over the years as the co-op has focused more on cheese and brokering milk it has not required the capacity offered by the site and has been losing money through owning its share of Westbury Dairies.  First Milk has,however, negotiated to be able to use the facility during the spring flush and at other certain times of the year.
