Fertiliser Prices May 28, 2013 12:00 am The cost of nitrogen fertiliser is starting the 2013/14 season around 10% lower than a year ago. GrowHow is offering 34% UK AN at £270 per tonne for June delivery. Last year the list price was £300 for the same month (see Bulletin 05(2012)). The current year’s price is set to rise £3 per tonne for July. Whether many farmers will be tempted by buying early given the well-reported cashflow problems within the sector remains to be seen. To help generate orders GrowHow is offering a finance scheme through Hitachi Capital (UK) with six or nine months’ unsecured credit.
