Farm Death Toll Down

Annual Health and Safety Executive (HSE) figures show that the number of fatal injuries to agricultural workers and farmers has fallen by 19% in 2012/13 compared to the previous year.  However, 29 agricultural workers still lost their lives during 2012/13.  The five year average is 36 deaths per year and farming remains the most dangerous industry with a death rate of 8.8 per 100,000.
