Farm Commissioner Aims to Simplify September 29, 2014 12:00 am The EU Farm Commissioner-designate, Phil Hogan, has pledged to simplify the CAP if approved in the post. This would include proposals to streamline the Greening rules being published by November 2015. He would also look at Rural Development regulations and protected food names, as well as trying to ensure the principle of ‘subsidiarity’ was applied more rigorously. He was replying to written questions from MEPs ahead of the formal Parliamentary hearings on 2nd October. The European Parliament have to vote on all the proposed Commissioners (the Commission College) on the 22nd October.
