Facilitation Fund December 15, 2015 12:00 am The second round of the Countryside Stewardship Facilitation Fund will open on 18th January 2016 and close on 18th March 2016. The fund supports people or organisations who work with a group of farmers or foresters to develop cooperative CSS applications. The facilitator will help submit complementary Countryside Stewardship applications from the group which will deliver environmental outcomes that go beyond those that would have been achieved through individual applications (in the jargon ‘landscape scale’ schemes). Those with existing agri-environment schemes can also be included within the groups. The last round saw 19 successful applications bring together almost 400 farmers covering over 76,000 hectares. The Facilitation Fund is a competitive scheme and only the best applications will succeed. A third round is expected to be available in 2017.
