EU Farm Incomes

Farm incomes across the EU-28 fell by 4.3% in 2015 compared to 2014.  The estimates from Eurostat of ‘agricultural income per labour unit’ show a massive 37.6% drop in Germany over the 12 months.  This was partly caused by the Russian import ban.  Other countries such as Poland (a 23.8% drop) were also affected.  The UK recorded a 19.3% fall in the measure.  This is broadly in line with our estiamtes for TIFF for 2015, showing a 20%+ fall in farming profits compared to 2014.  The full Eurostat data can be found at – http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/documents/2995521/7107262/5-15122015-BP-EN.pdf/ed3d0366-88e8-4187-ab6d-0a33d14b2d0f
