Deer Farming April 17, 2015 12:00 am A new report highlights lack of finance and technical knowledge as key factors holding back the growth of the domestic deer farming industry. The report, produced by the University of Aberdeen, the James Hutton Institute and the Scottish Venison Partnership outlines that, whilst market demand for venison is growing, this is largely being supplied by imports. Scottish farmers have been reluctant to move into the sector as they feel that they simply do not know enough about it.
