Cross compliance Update for 2014

December 13, 2013 12:00 am

The RPA has published updated cross-compliance guidance for the 2014 SPS year.  The full updated guide will only be available electronically this year.  For those that make their SPS applications online, an e-mail with a weblink is being sent out.  For those that make paper applications a short ‘summary of changes’ is being posted.  This has to be read in conjunction with the 2012 paper guide.  Full details are available via – http://rpa.defra.gov.uk/rpa/index.nsf/0/B6577881ADD6592480257C3C005FAD3D

The changes for 2014 are fairly minor.  The most important is probably that, from the 1st January 2014, cattle keepers will be deemed to be in breach of the cross-compliance rules if they are late with their TB testing.  A further important point is that the Soil Protection Review needs to be kept updated.  The original booklet sent out was designed for use between 2010 and 2013.  A continuation sheet for 2014 has been made available.  A new revised SPR is likely to be launched for 2015.
