Supporting Flood Resilience in Lowdham, Nottinghamshire October 2, 2025 11:38 am At The Andersons Centre, we recognise the importance of contributing to the communities where our colleagues live and work. This commitment is reflected in our support for the Lowdham Flood Action Group (FLAG), a local volunteer organisation focused on improving flood resilience in the Nottinghamshire village of Lowdham. Our colleague, Michael Haverty, has been actively involved with the group in a practical, volunteering capacity. This has included assisting with community clean-up efforts, helping to remove silt to improve water flow, bolster flood defences, and supporting residents with preparedness measures during periods of heightened flood risk. Alongside this, The Andersons Centre has provided charitable contributions to Lowdham FLAG, totalling £1,000 to date. These have supported the resourcing of community initiatives, including awareness-raising activities, the acquisition of essential equipment, and the delivery of local engagement programmes designed to enhance long-term flood protection. Our involvement with the Lowdham Flood Action Group reflects The Andersons Centre’s broader ethos to apply knowledge, commitment, and practical action in ways that strengthen rural and farming communities. We are pleased to play a role in supporting this important work and in contributing towards a more resilient future for Lowdham and its residents.
