Co-op Farms sold to Wellcome Trust August 5, 2014 12:00 am The Co-operative Group has announced the sale of its farming operations to the Wellcome Trust. The deal, for £249 million, includes nearly 16,000 hectares, over 100 residential properties, 27 commercial properties and three packing houses. The farming operations will continue under Farmcare Trading Ltd; staff will be kept on by the Trust. The Wellcome Trust backs research into improvement in animal and human health and has a wide portfolio of investments including land.
