Cereal Quality September 29, 2014 12:00 am The latest set of results have been released from the AHDB/ HGCA’s Cereal Quality Survey. The survey has found that wheat quality was lower than that reported in the initial results, although specific weights and Hagbergs remain above average. Average protein content for wheat was 11.3%, lower than the 11.7% recorded in August. GB barley samples recorded the lowest nitrogen levels since records began in 1977 at 1.53%. Specific weights were lower than recorded earlier in the year however grain size is above the three-year average.
